 James Kot is a gifted Canadian actor who is quickly establishing himself as a force in Film and Television.

Born and raised in Saskatoon & Calgary, Canada, respectively, James was interested in acting from a young age. 
James gained acceptance into the University of Victoria's Phoenix Theatre Department in the Acting Specialization, a selective program graduating only eleven students.

Shortly after graduating with Distinction in 2007, James landed his first Feature Film role as the young soldier 'Skinner' in Paul Gross' World War I drama, "Passchendaele". "Passchendaele"  was the premiere film of the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival and remains the biggest budget Canadian production of all time.

Some of James' Film and Television credits include CW’s "Supergirl" & "Supernatural", ABC’s "Motive", Lifetime's"Magic Beyond Words: The J.K Rowling Story", & "Fairly Legal"  for USA Network   A career highlight was working in a Supporting Role, alongside former Bond girl & Medicine Woman, Jane Seymour, on "Dear Prudence", a Hallmark MOW.

Constantly working on his craft, James has studied alongside acclaimed instructors including: Larry Moss (coach of Leonardo Dicaprio & Hilary Swank), Ned Vukovic of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and renowned Vancouver acting coach, Andrew McIlroy.

James recently ventured into writing and producing. "A Tremendous Heist" was produced by No Skydivers Productions and long-time friends Beatrice King and Robinder Uppal. The film premiered at the Oregon Independent Film Festival winning an award for Best Actress in a Short Film. 

James returned to the stage as Jack Worthy in Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest" produced by Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre in Victoria.


Watch for James in upcoming episodes of the animated series "Beyblade Burst" as 'Kurt Baratier' on Teletoon & DisneyXD, and as James recurs as Agent Neil McNeil in "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" on the CW!

James recently returned to his role as 'Dr. Tommy Madden' to Hallmark's "Ruby Herring Mysteries". The second instalment of the series, "Ruby Herring Mysteries: Her Last Breath" premiered in the Fall of 2019!

In his spare time, James enjoys the search for the perfect cup of coffee, getting wrapped up in sporting events, and exploring the outdoors.

James continues to study and teach alongside mentor, Andrew McIlroy, in Vancouver.
